In 2005, John Giduck warned us about something very important to him:

“however, law enforcement professionals must beware of some claiming to be Russian hand-to-hand experts. Few have had any substantial military training – with the exception of actual former Russian Spetsnaz commandos – or spent years living and training in that country. Over the years as the Russian System has become better known, I have come to realize that there are a large number of would-be practitioners who have reduced an excellent combat system to little more than graceful, choreographed movement that looks more like Chinese Wushu forms competitions, than it does the unarmed combat actually  trained and utilized by Russia’s elite warriors.”

Perhaps John Giduck was in actuality referring to this guy

Been traveling a bit so here is the link to vote for John Giduck for the Round of 8 voting.

The above is for voting on 24 July 2013. I’ll post the 25 July voting link tomorrow.

UPDATE: 25 July voting link…only until noon:

Don’t be shy – let’s give John Giduck something that he finally earned.

John Giduck’s integrity issues continue to plague him. There is evidence that John Giduck had previously claimed to have been at Beslan as part of first hand commentary in an opinion article:

I was at Beslan, and know the horror of 334 dead innocent people, 186 of them children. I was called in to begin an assessment of the Bailey shooting after it was over.

Note the difference between the two statements.  He was at Beslan but called into to Bailey “after it was over”.  The problem is that we now know that John Giduck wasn’t anywhere near Beslan even in it’s aftermath.  John Giduck latest story (still without any supporting evidence) is that he arrived sometime on 5 September 2004.

Keep in mind that there is evidence that demonstrates that the one flight per day between Moscow and Beslan wasn’t available on 5 September 2004.  This evidence makes John Giduck of having arrived on 5 September 2004 even less likely.

On a side note, this blog has also demonstrated that the Afghanistan school attack data provided by John Giduck (a self proclaimed expert of school attacks) is completely false as well.

John Giduck tries to give readers the same impression that he was actually at Beslan while events were actually unfolding in another article which also contains a first hand interview by John Giduck. A reasonable person might assume that the information was provided by John Giduck as part of that interview,

John Giduck, a 1977 Sun Valley High School graduate, who now lives in Colorado, was at Beslan as the last mopping up operations were taking place.

Unfortunately for John Giduck, this also is a lie. Even if John Giduck did arrive as he now claims on 5 September 2004 after magically fixing a Russian visa issue within  24 hours in the US, this blog has demonstrated that the bodies and rubble were removed from the Beslan school on 4 September 2004.  There was no “mopping up” or horror of 334 dead innocent people. Again, John Giduck’s previously published statements don’t match the evidence.  He is lying.

Lastly, I’ve had to reconstruct an entire quote here using Google since the published work costs more than $200 to get a reprint.  I’ll write out the quote in full and then show the reconstruction – you can do the same in google by searching “JPCN” and the key words.

…teacher, historian, and author John Giduck. Explains the author, “I was there; I arrived when mopping up operations were taking place and then again three more times over the next months to gather more information.“

The above is a direct quote from John Giduck.

In short, the story is a lie to sell you John Giduck’s book, Terror At Beslan.  Apparently, such statements are key and critical enough to building John Giduck’s false legend that John Giduck also appears to have been making such false statements under a pen name. Now it’s time to vote John Giduck into the Fecal Four.  Be ready on Monday, 15 July 2013!

John Giduck has been voted into the Round of Unsweet 16 for the 2013 Stolen Valor tournament over on the TAH blog.

Giduck has his toughest round yet but can take this all the way.

Let’s vote John Giduck into at least the “Fecal Four”!!   You can only vote today (Tuesday, 9 July 2013)

This blog has been consistently saying that John Giduck’s M.O. is to have others lie to build up a false legend. These lies by multiple people to essentially sell you products and services based on lies isn’t based on a single event….it appears to be part of a strategy by John Giduck and Archangel Group.

Given the fictional nature of much of John Giduck’s operational background and credentials, it’s fitting then that John Giduck has a fiction writer lying for him as well.  Let’s start out with what fiction writer, Brad Thor, opines on how he should be judged:

As an author, I’m judged by the body of my work. As a man, I hope to be judged by the content of my character. I hope that judgment will include not only how I comport myself and how I treat others, but whom I choose to surround myself with.

Brad Thor in

Let’s judge Brad Thor using his own criteria then.

Here is what Brad Thor stated about John Giduck:

THOR: I know a little bit about it. John Giduck again is the expert. He’s former military, he’s a law enforcement trainer. John actually speaks Russian and he was there very early on with the siege at Beslan. He has trained some of the Russian special forces members. So he’s very intimate with this, and I think this is something again that’s part of this whole package of the things that Americans need to see and know. I’ve seen some, but I don’t know exactly what it is that John’s going to be sharing.

Very beautiful accolades except for the fact that most of Brad thor’s drivel is demonstrably untrue or overstatement.

John Giduck as former military: Overstated. What Brad Thor fails to mention is that John Giduck’s military service consisted of making it only 58 days in the U.S. Army.  Only Brad Thor can answer what John Giduck actually told him about his service.

John Giduck as law enforcement trainer: Overstated. In 2007, when this report aired, most of John Giduck’s training of law enforcement had been in martial arts.  One only needs to read John Giduck’s rather pedestrian 2001 biography to know this. The direct reference can be found here. Note that John Giduck’s bio doesn’t have the law enforcement training reference in the law enforcement section of the biography; he has it in the defensive skills section.

John Giduck as Russian speaker: Overstated. John Giduck claimed in a 2008 podcast that he doesn’t speak Russian very well.  One would think that after a University resident program in Russia that he would speak rather fluently.  That said, in true John Giduck fashion, the program that John Giduck claims to have completed also offers a completely voluntary, self paced Russian language program of whatever length the attendee chooses to attend.  This could be one day ( .  John Giduck has never produced evidence of attending the resident semester based language program.

John Giduck being in Beslan during the siege: Lie.  In 2007, John Giduck wanted people to think that he was actually in Beslan and had text in his book, Terror at Beslan, indicating that the siege was ongoing as he arrived in Russia (Original Story).  This is what this blog refers to as the “big lie”. Brad Thor appears to be a willing participant in building this lie and false legend.  Unfortunately, John Giduck mentioned in a 2008 podcast interview (11:32 into the interview) that he had a visa problem and after this new story (Change #1) started the normal chain of factual and continuity problems that most lies cause when changed.

Host: you’ve written about the incident at Beslan. Were you actually there?

John Giduck: we got…we attempted to get there while the siege was still going on. Due to some problems that we had getting my visa delivered in the time that I was promised. We ended up making it to Moscow on the last day, getting to Beslan the morning after the battle ended with the battle having ending at 11:20 the night before.

After further uncomfortable questions were raised about John Giduck’s timeline, John Giduck further clarified his story (Change #2).  The new story is as follows:

When John Giduck and Yuri Federov [sic] arrived in Russia late on Sept 4 they were immediately briefed by a couple of ex-spetsnaz people they knew as to what had happened. Vladikavkaz airport had been closed and John Giduck and Yuri Federov [sic] were on one of the first flights into the area once the battle was over and the area secured.

John Giduck and Yuri Federov [sic] were in the School at Beslan on Sept 5.

unfortunately this latest change invalidated the stories and first hand observations about the Beslan siege that John Giduck told in his original story and contradicts the 2008 change #1 to his story.  Further evidence shows that there wasn’t even a flight into Beslan on 5 Sept 2004 as John Giduck claims.  John Giduck has yet to produce any evidence that he was at the school within even two weeks of the Beslan siege.

John Giduck as trainer of Russian Special Forces: Other than the obvious question of “what could John Giduck possibly teach tier one units about tactics?”, there is also the not so small issue of the US Government requiring a license to train foreign military forces. There is already evidence that John Giduck and John “Andy” Anderson violated federal international arms control laws and ITAR statutes in the Sudan.  Apparently, Brad Thor has further information that John Giduck has done so on other occasions in Russia as well.  Why else would Brad Thor say this?

Another important factor in Brad Thor’s support of John Giduck is that he isn’t an impartial judge of John Giduck.

One of the greatest pleasures of my adulthood has been the friendships I have forged with some of this nation’s greatest patriots and bravest warriors. John Giduck is one of those outstanding men and it is an honor to call him my friend.

Of course, from everything that I have read, Brad Thor fails to mention this friendship during the Glenn Beck interview.  Interestingly, Brad Thor is also mutual friend with Chester PA’s Police Commissioner Joseph “Joe” Bail.

In short, Brad Thor asks us to judge him by the people that surround him.  In Brad Thor’s own words, John Giduck is proudly one of those people. John Giduck also happens to have lied about his arrival in Beslan, dated a cop killer while representing her as a defense attorney, had to flee to West Virginia at one point in his life, violated Federal ITAR statutes, sued veterans for telling the truth about him, lied about being a qualified member of the US Army Special Forces and Rangers, and engaged in highly questionable quid pro quo consulting arrangements and honorariums with mutual friend Joe Bail.

My opinion is that there is strong enough evidence to show that Brad Thor is either knowingly lying about his good friend, John Giduck, or has been duped. If duped, Brad Thor should say so. Otherwise, any lawsuit appeal that actually sees the inside of a court room brought should get Brad Thor on the stand and under oath so that he can explain his statements. I don’t believe that Brad Thor’s comments support John Giduck’s false narrative and legend so neatly by sheer coincidence.

In the meantime, you be the judge.

If you’ve read this blog for any length of time, you know that John Giduck wants to impress you with a 10th Special Forces Certificate and a VITYAZ certification won after a grueling commercial one week military style adventure camp offered by his own company where activities were deemed “voluntary”.  John Giduck’s credentials simply don’t pass the sniff test.

John Giduck and his lone remaining cheerleader, Dave Grossman, like to say that Giduck only has a problem with a small number of special operations people.  Grossman also likes to demonstrate that he apparently learned nothing while serving in the mean combat zone of West Point rather that in, say, Iraq or Afghanistan by claiming that those that question John Giduck’s fake credentials are actually in the employ of groups such as CAIR.  Umm-kay.  What Grossman doesn’t realize between his huffing, puffing hooahs and talking about killing despite never having actually done so is that there are many voices that over the years have raised serious questions and concerns about John Giduck and Archangel Group.

David Cariens is one of those voices. Unlike military faker and discredited Beslan author John Giduck, noted analyst David Cariens is the real deal.

David served in the CIA for 31 years before retiring in 1997.  During his career he was a political analyst for 22 years in the Directorate of Intelligence, specializing in Balkan affairs.  In this capacity he produced finished intelligence for all levels of the U.S. government, from the President to working level counterparts throughout the Community.  He has designed intelligence analysis/writing courses and taught them throughout the Intelligence Community.

He has given writing workshops at the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA) in Alexandria in 2005, in Mexico City in 2006, in Vancouver, Canada in April, 2007, and in Boston in 2008.  David presented a similar writing workshop at the Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit’s national meeting in Tempe, Arizona in June 2006.  He has conducted intelligence analysis training for the Criminal Intelligence Service of Canada and for the Canadian police.

So let’s read what David Cariens thinks of John Giduck’s book, Shooter Down, about the VA Tech tragedy. John Giduck is the founder and owner of Archangel Group.

This is the second of several articles the author plans on doing related to the Archangel Group’s report on Virginia Tech. This article takes a critical look at the credentials of the members of the Archangel Group who took the lead in writing their report of the shootings. To sit by and say nothing when faced with Archangel’s biases, self-serving analysis, and intellectual dishonesty, would be unconscionable.

I was deeply disappointed when I read the Archangel Group’s report on the Virginia Tech shooting. The report is clearly fashioned in the form of a legal argument designed to make a point or win a case—not designed to get at the objective truth. The most positive thing I can say is that the approach taken by the report is intellectually shaky.

This sounds very similar to what this blog concluded about Archangel Group’s research into Mumbai.  Cariens continues:

I have forty-one years of experience as an intelligence analyst, inspector for the CIA’s Inspector General, and an instructor for intelligence analysis for all levels of the federal government (CIA, FBI, DIA, Department of Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center), the state police intelligence units, and for numerous foreign governments including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canadian intelligence. If the Archangel Group had submitted their report to me in one of my classes, I would have given them a failing grade.

Ouch.  Cariens then goes on to do what most people should have done after reading anything about John Giduck.

I was so thunder-struck by the poor quality of the report that I went back and took a closer look at the credentials and membership of the Archangel Group. Do their backgrounds give them the skills necessary to a thorough analysis of a problem? Have they been trained in an academic field that emphasizes objectivity—or does their training emphasize argumentation and winning at all costs, no matter what the truth is? That closer look helped explain a great deal.

You can read what Mr. Cariens notes about the Archangel Group set of authors of the VA tech report here:  Note that this report forms the basis of John Giduck’s Shooter Down book and that Mr. Cariens blog post was written in 2008…long before there was detailed research that provided clear evidence that demonstrate  John Giduck’s claimed background and experience to be false.  Archangel Group’s conclusions are lacking as a result.

The Archangel Group states: “The goal of the Report is to offer relevant facts, findings and conclusions, concerning the tactical response of law enforcement and first responders to the shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech on 16 April 2007, and to offer recommendations for future preparedness and tactical response capability to all relevant agencies. Archangel Group, and the Archangel Team that conducted this investigation and assessment, hopes that this report can aid in planning for, and responding to future incidents like the tragedy at Virginia Tech.”

The stated goals of Archangel Group are highly commendable. Unfortunately, the report does not deliver on those goals. I would remind the reader that Archangel Group also states on page 7: “This Report has been prepared for distribution to U.S. law enforcement, security and first responder agencies, and is being made available at no cost to any such agency.” Again a very noble purpose, but clearly the unsaid, underlying purpose of the report is to drum-up business for Archangel. Archangel Group wants to sell its services, if their purpose was purely altruistic then they would offer all of their expertise and service to police forces at no cost.

Anyone else wondering why law enforcement continues to hire John Giduck or Archangel Group for anything?

From the ThisAintHell military blog, John Giduck won his first round against fellow military faker Tony Tusso .  The voting ended at  61%-38%.

Results are here:

Next round, John Giduck has a tougher challenge against Stolen Valor hero Armine Annunziato.  Here is what one commenter has already posted:

Combat Historian Says:

North Regional dark horse action: Gidduck versus Annunziato, both are assholes supreme, with Gidduck bullying real SOF operators and Carmine ripping off real GIs with his surplus fraud. This Round 2 secondary action will be a fun one to watch…

John Giduck can win the 2013 Stolen Valor tournament given his history and claims.  Help make him famous.

This blog has long maintained that there have been questions about John Giduck’s experience and background since the same yeart hat he published his book in 2005. Those few supporters around John Giduck such as LTC Dave Grossman have started to publicize that those critics are actually forces counter to the interest of the United States…I presume that he means to include this blog in that group.  The problem with Dave Grossman’s cover story is several fold. Pushing aside for a moment that these words come from a man that teaches killing despite only serving hard combat tours at spectacularly death free locations such at West Point, Grossman ignores the fact that John Giduck’s activities/problems predate September 11th, involve integrity issues such as publishing first hand observations in Russia as the 2004 Beslan siege was ongoing while his own statements now show that he was in Colorado, and a myriad of false statements over the years that come from John Giduck himself.

Another voice has risen to join the chorus of John Giduck critics. Annette Fuentes published a new book in February 2013 called Lockdown High: When The Schoolhouse Becomes A Jailhouse. In this book, the author rightfully mocks John Giduck and points out how he is actually turning sheepdogs into sheep.

Here is some of what she says specifically about John Giduck while John Giduck continues to cower in silence….

– Lockdown High,

I love this view into John Giduck’s presentations.  The 19 years in Russia was demonstrably spent in Colorado with some vacation trips to Russia (Read more: John Giduck: The Only Russian Special Forces Consultant That Couldn’t Complete Basic Training).  Assertions that the majority of Giduck’s claimed operational credentials are false or overstated can be found throughout this site’s sitemap. Let’s continue…

The sheepdogs don’t realize that the facts don’t support his case.  John Giduck’s assertions that beslan will happen in the United States has not been borne out and John Giduck’s solutions don’t fit the level or types of crimes that we are seeing.  You see, john Giduck has no experience as law enforcement and his military experience spanned a grand total of 58 days in US Army basic training.   I wonder if John Giduck’s alter ego, Sgathek, appears during his presentations.  Apparently, I am not the only person to note John Giduck rotund girth but still remain the only one to point out his Jiffy Pop quaff…but I digress….

Ms. Fuentes continues…

So, the truth about John Giduck is readily available on the internet. One simply has to just google his name. From his perspective, it’s John Giduck Vs. Everyone.

– John Giduck’s Terror At Beslan book has been discredited (even by the Russians) as well as Archangel Group’s Virginia Tech and Mumbai research

“I was deeply disappointed when I read the Archangel Group’s report on the Virginia Tech shooting. The report is clearly fashioned in the form of a legal argument designed to make a point or win a case—not designed to get at the objective truth. The most positive thing I can say is that the approach taken by the report is intellectually shaky.”

I was so thunder-struck by the poor quality of the report that I went back and took a closer look at the credentials and membership of the Archangel Group.

I have reluctantly concluded that this report is not an objective analysis of the Virginia Tech shootings; it is a 144-page advertisement for the Archangel Group.”

– John Giduck’s claimed arrival in Beslan timeline has been proven false to the point that even John Giduck himself had to acknowledge  the facts and change his story several times (read more: John Giduck: Beslan Author, Speaker, Trainer, Liar)

– John Giduck has been involved in activities that have run counter to the interests of law enforcement (dating a cop killer, funneling money from a community corrections non-profit, honorariums likely in violation of the Pennsylvania state ethics act with the Chester PA police department, smoking gun evidence of  documented ITAR violations, etc.)

That said, John Giduck does however have his highly cherished special forces certificate to impress you with.

The key question is: “What happens when the sheepdogs actually find out that they’ve been the sheep all along?”
